Program Overview
All students in band and orchestra...
Receive two 25 minute synchronous lessons per week on a fixed schedule
Receive one additional asychronous assignment per week
Will not miss any other classes to attend Band and Orchestra! Classes are scheduled during a student's asynchronous work times
Can be in both Band and Chorus, or both Orchestra and Chorus, but they cannot enroll in both Band and Orchestra
Grade Level Information
3rd Grade
Students will have the opportunity to join the 3rd grade orchestra and learn to play Violin, Viola, or Cello. Go to the Instrument Demos page to see all these instruments in action!
4th Grade
Students who played a string instrument in 3rd grade can choose to continue on their string instrument, or switch to band. Students who did not play an instrument last year will have the opportunity to play a band instrument this year! Options are: Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, or Percussion (snare drum and bell set). Go to the Instrument Demos page to see all of these instruments in action!
5th Grade
All students in 5th grade should sign up to continue the same instrument they played in 4th grade. If you are a 5th grader who has never played an instrument, please email Ms. Bryant before enrolling at jaclyn_bryant@hcpss.org
